Masking Tape crepe paper for masking
Classic crepe tape is the indispensable all-rounder in every workshop when it comes to general masking work without extreme heat exposure. It is the economical solution for all processes taking place at moderate temperatures or where parts need protection from splashes and dust.
Due to its creped surface structure, the tape is particularly flexible and can be easily torn by hand, enabling fast work without additional tools.
Key Advantages:
- High flexibility: Thanks to the crepe, the tape is extremely easy to guide around curves and uneven surfaces.
- Excellent instant adhesion: Bonds reliably to metal, plastic, and glass.
- Easy handling: Can be torn by hand and is easy to apply – ideal for fast masking of large areas.
- Residue-free: At temperatures up to 80°C, the tape can be pulled off cleanly after use.
Technical Data:
- Material: Lightly creped paper with natural rubber adhesive.
- Temperature: Heat-resistant up to 80°C (short-term).
- Total thickness: approx. 0.13 mm.
- Color: Natural / Beige.
When to use crepe instead of polyester?
Crepe tape is perfect for painting at room temperature or basic protective masking. However, as soon as it goes into the powder oven, you should switch to our professional solutions: For standard applications up to 220°C, we recommend the blue polyester masking tape or the transparent version. For extreme heat, the polyamide masking tape up to 260°C is the right choice.
Practical FAQ:
Can I use this crepe tape in a powder oven? Only to a limited extent for very low temperatures. We primarily recommend it for preparation or liquid painting up to 80°C. For curing powder coatings, our specialized heat-resistant tapes are safer.
Is it waterproof? It offers good protection against moisture but should not be left excessively soaked when using water-based paints.
Application Recommendation:
Apply to a clean, dry surface and press down briefly. Peel off promptly after painting or drying to achieve the cleanest edge.
