Gaffa tape in silver, super strong fabric tape up to 80 °C

The classic silver fabric tape (DUC / Gaffa) is the "jack of all trades" in the workshop. It is not made for high-temperature ovens, but for the tough mechanical jobs surrounding them. Whether for quick fixing, bundling heavy profiles, or providing rough edge protection during transport – this tape belongs in every drawer.

Thanks to its high adhesive strength on almost all surfaces and its water-repellent coating, it is the perfect companion for assembly, storage, and preparation.

Key Advantages:

  • Enormous adhesive strength: Bonds immediately and securely to metal, plastic, wood, and stone.
  • Extremely tear-resistant, yet easy to tear off: Extremely stable against tension in the longitudinal direction, but can be easily torn off by hand crosswise.
  • Water-repellent: Also ideal for short-term outdoor use or during damp cleaning processes.
  • Versatile: Perfect for bundling pipes or protecting visible surfaces during mechanical processing.

Technical Data:

  • Material: PE-coated fabric tape with natural rubber adhesive.
  • Temperature: Resistant up to 80°C (not suitable for the powder oven!).
  • Color: Silver.
  • Property: High instant adhesion (tack).

When to use Gaffa instead of special tape?

Use the silver fabric tape for everything that does not go into the oven. It is an assembly and protection tape. As soon as heat is involved, you need our professional solutions: For masking during sandblasting followed by an oven cycle, the fiberglass masking tape GT280 is the right choice. For fine paint edges at 220°C, reach for the blue polyester masking tape.

Practical FAQ:

Can I use it to cover holes in the oven? No! At oven temperatures, the adhesive melts and leaves a greasy layer on the metal. Only use our heat-resistant tapes for that purpose.

How long can it remain attached? At room temperature, it can be removed without residue in the short term. If exposed to UV radiation for weeks, the adhesive may harden.

Application Recommendation:

Simply tear off by hand and press down firmly. Ideal for securing components on a pallet or protecting flanges and threads from coarse dirt during storage.
