What are suspension systems for in powder coating?

Powder coating hangers are an important part of the process, as they hold parts in the correct position to ensure an even coating. There are various methods for hanging parts, including wire, clamps, hooks, and special stands. It's important that the hangers are sturdy and do not corrode, as this can compromise the quality of the coating.   The hooks and hangers can be used multiple times. We recommend removing the hangers as thoroughly as possible before baking the powder coating (e.g., using compressed air) to extend their service life. Since the powder coating layer on the hanging system thickens over time near the contact points, it is advisable to strip the hooks regularly to prevent processing problems, such as problems during application or the hanging of certain parts becoming impossible due to the hooks' excessive coating thickness or the drill holes being too small.

What should be considered when selecting the suspension for powder coating?

Powder coating hangers should meet certain requirements, such as electrical conductivity to ensure even powder charging and corrosion resistance to prevent corrosion of the hanger material. They must also be robust enough to support and move the object being coated while it is being coated.
