Touch-Up Pen RAL 9010 Pure White

Ready-mixed touch-up pen in RAL 9010 Pure White, available in matt or gloss, for repairing scratches and small paint damage on powder-coated and painted surfaces. Compared to a pure cold white, RAL 9010 has a minimally warm, slightly creamy undertone. This makes it noticeably different from RAL 9016 Traffic White, which appears distinctly cooler and bluer. Mixing up the two shades results in a visible colour mismatch after touch-up.

What is the white touch-up pen typically used for?

RAL 9010 is the standard shade for white powder-coated window frames, front doors, roller shutter boxes and letterboxes. Radiators and white-coated garden furniture are also commonly finished in this shade. Scratches here usually occur during transport, installation, or from mechanical wear at handles and hinges — spots where a touch-up pen gets the job done faster than full recoating.

Quick guide

Clean and degrease the surface, roughen with sandpaper for deeper damage, shake the pen vigorously and apply the paint in two thin coats with a 10-minute drying interval in between. Allow at least 24 hours to fully cure before polishing. You'll find the detailed step-by-step guide with photos in our magazine article on repairing powder coating.

Is RAL 9010 the same as RAL 9016 Traffic White?

No. RAL 9010 Pure White has a slightly creamy appearance due to a minimal warm undertone, while RAL 9016 Traffic White is cooler and more neutral. Getting this right matters for touch-up work, since the two shades look visibly different side by side, even though both are perceived as "white" from a distance. This touch-up pen is mixed exclusively for RAL 9010.

Is the white touch-up pen waterproof?

Once fully cured after approx. 24 hours, the coating is weather- and moisture-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. Within the first 24 hours, the repaired area should not be exposed to moisture or wet conditions.

Can you paint over white powder coating?

Yes, the touch-up pen adheres to already powder-coated surfaces and is suitable for localised repairs. For deeper damage, we recommend roughening the surface beforehand. It's not designed for full recoating — for that, we offer RAL 9010 Pure White as a powder coating.
