Touch-Up Pen RAL 9007 Grey Aluminium
Ready-mixed touch-up pen in RAL 9007 Grey Aluminium, available in matt or gloss, for repairing scratches and small paint damage on powder-coated and painted surfaces. RAL 9007 is a pure paint colour in an aluminium look, not an anodised or brushed metal finish. If you're expecting a genuine metallic appearance with visible texture, it's worth knowing this upfront: the shade replicates the typical grey tone, not the material structure of real aluminium.

Touch-up pen for aluminium and powder-coated aluminium surfaces
RAL 9007 is the standard shade for window profiles, roller shutters, facade cladding and housings for technical equipment. It's also commonly used for privacy fencing and canopies with an aluminium look. Scratches here usually occur during installation and transport, for example at edges and fixing points.
Quick guide
Clean and degrease the surface, roughen with sandpaper for deeper damage, shake the pen vigorously and apply the RAL 9007 paint in two thin coats with a 10-minute drying interval in between. Allow at least 24 hours to fully cure before polishing. You'll find the detailed step-by-step guide with photos in our article repairing powder coating made easy.
Frequently asked questions
Is RAL 9007 the same as anodised aluminium?
No. Anodising is an electrochemical surface treatment of the metal itself, while RAL 9007 is an applied paint colour. For colour touch-ups on powder-coated aluminium components, this distinction doesn't matter — the touch-up pen reliably matches the colour, not the material surface.
Can the touch-up pen also be used on bare, uncoated aluminium?
Yes, though without the corrosion protection of a full powder coating. For purely cosmetic touch-ups on uncoated aluminium, the pen is sufficient; if broader corrosion protection is needed, full powder coating is recommended instead.
Can you paint over powder coating?
Yes, the touch-up pen adheres to already powder-coated surfaces and is suitable for localised repairs. For deeper damage, we recommend roughening the surface beforehand. It's not designed for full recoating — for that, use the matching powder coating shade, see below.
How much surface area does one pen cover?
With 12 ml of content and two applied coats, one pen covers roughly 500 to 600 cm² — about the size of an A4 sheet. In practice, though, a touch-up pen is used for spot repairs rather than full coverage, so the effective range is usually much greater: enough for numerous small scratches and stone chips across several components.
If you powder coat aluminium components yourself or repair them regularly, you'll find yourself reaching for this touch-up pen again and again — small touch-ups after installation and transport can be handled without firing up the entire coating line.
