The base set of the E-COAT+3 Master series:
Digital control unit, E-GUN+3 C1 corona handgun and injector in one package. It gets you straight into professional powder coating, with 50 storable recipes, automatic air control and charge regulation that stays precise down into the single-digit microamp range.
Please read before you order: what this set does not include
We would rather tell you now than after delivery. The base set on its own will not let you coat anything yet. It contains everything that conveys, charges and applies the powder, but no powder source. You will also need one of the following:
- a powder hopper with an injector socket (8, 50 or 100 litres), the classic solution if you mainly work with a small number of colours, or
- a box unloader with a suction tube, which lets you draw powder straight from the original container without decanting and without hopper cleaning.
You will find both in this category. If you are unsure which option suits your operation, give us a call. It is usually settled in five minutes.
E-COAT+3 Master control unit
The control unit is the heart of the set. It regulates high voltage, output current and both air streams, so you can concentrate on the workpiece instead of on pressure gauges.
50 recipes instead of setting up by feel
You can store up to 50 parameter sets (P01 to P50). Four are preset at the factory and can be called up directly via buttons B6 to B9:

The remaining 46 slots are yours to define. In practice this means you dial in a workpiece properly once, save it, and run exactly the same parameters again months later.
Double trigger and sub-recipes
Every main recipe can be assigned a sub-recipe. Pulling the trigger twice switches between the two, for example from "flat surface" to "complex part" and back, without putting the gun down or walking to the control unit. On a part that combines flat areas with internal corners, that saves several steps at every changeover.
MCF mode for consistent film thickness
As soon as you set the output current below 10 µA, the control unit automatically switches to MCF mode (Micro Charge Feedback). It then takes considerably more current samples per unit of time and regulates the powder charge at micro level. This is exactly what prevents over-coating on edges and back-ionisation inside Faraday cages. The µA value on the display fluctuates while you spray, but the internal setting stays below 10 µA.
Automatic air control
You enter total air volume and powder ratio as a percentage. When you change the ratio, the unit adjusts the supplementary air by itself and keeps the total air volume in the hose constant. If you prefer to work manually, switch to stand-alone mode and set conveying air and atomising air independently.
Further functions of the control unit
- FastPurge: rapid purging of injector, hose and gun path with high-pressure air, triggered either by the menu button on the unit or the "P" button on the gun (hold for 3 seconds in both cases).
- Consumable counters: five freely configurable counters measured in days, with a flashing warning when a wear part is due for replacement.
- Bluetooth: connection to the ElectronApp.
- Standby: if no button is pressed for a while, the display dims to level 0 and wakes up on the next input.
- Network (optional): with the retrofittable Ethernet module (order code B07140513) several Master units can be linked in master/slave operation or connected to an automation system. No network connector is fitted at the factory.
- Calibration factors PCF1 and PCF2: for fine-tuning the minimum powder output and matching several guns within the same system.
E-GUN+3 C1 handgun
The corona gun supplied with the set weighs 495 grams and still sits well in the hand after several hours. Four buttons on the back of the gun give you direct access to powder volume, segment selection, cleaning mode and lighting, so the control unit can stay where it is while you work.
The integrated LED can be switched on and off permanently or set to automatic mode, where it lights up as long as you hold the trigger and switches off by itself ten seconds after you release it. In dark booths and on internal surfaces this makes a noticeable difference.
The C1 is approved for plastic, metallic and enamel powders. On the output side it delivers up to 120 kV at a maximum of 120 µA, protection class IP64, explosion protection II 2 D. The seven-metre connecting cable comfortably covers a normal booth workstation.
E-FEED+3 injector
The injector draws in the powder and conveys it to the gun through the seven-metre antistatic hose (11 mm diameter). It is designed for epoxy and polyester powders at a hose air flow of roughly 65 to 85 l/min. Irregular powder output or spitting at the nozzle almost always indicates insufficient hose air, so increase that value before you take anything apart.
For cleaning, disconnect the injector from the hopper and blow out the body, the hose connection and the powder inlet with oil-free and water-free compressed air. Stubborn residues can be treated with cellulose thinner. Do not use acetone, and never immerse the white solid filters in the filter module in any liquid. Blow them out or replace them.

These are the manufacturer's reference values, measured with an 11 mm hose. Actual output depends on powder type, particle size and hose routing.
Requirements at your workstation
- Earthing below 1 MΩ. Workpiece, booth, hopper and conveyor chain (if used) must be reliably earthed, and within a five-metre radius this applies to every conductive part. The resistance has to be checked weekly. If powder fails to adhere, this is the cause in the vast majority of cases, not the equipment.
- Treated compressed air. A filter regulator upstream of the unit is mandatory. Damp or oily powder cannot be applied cleanly, no matter how good the control system is.
- Extraction and explosion zones. The control unit may only be operated in Zone 22, the gun in the Zone 21 it generates itself. Technical ventilation has to keep the dust concentration below 50 % of the lower explosive limit.
- Conductive footwear, no insulating gloves. The gun is handled earthed. If gloves are necessary, they must be electrically conductive.

Master or Pro?
We stock the E-COAT+3 series in two specification levels. The Master, this unit, works with a digital display, 50 recipes, MCF mode and automatic air control. The E-COAT+3 Pro comes with an LED segment display, three factory recipes and manual pressure regulators, delivers up to 100 kV and 100 µA and costs considerably less. If you work with one or two standard colours and do not need recipe management, the Pro is entirely sufficient. We are adding the Pro series to our range shortly, so get in touch if you would prefer to wait for it.

Delivery and service
We deliver within Germany in 7 to 10 days and to Austria in 7 to 14 days. At 13 kg the base set ships as a parcel, so no freight forwarder is involved. Wear and spare parts such as nozzles, deflectors, carbon rings, PTFE bushings and injector nozzles are available from us throughout the product service life. Electron states an economic service life of around ten years for the control unit and guarantees spare parts availability over that period.
